First of all, please read my comment again. These aren’t my comments, these are questions from other people. I have a Mastodon account. I’ve had one since Musk bought Twitter, and the one I have now isn’t my original. Because I moved servers and didn’t have a problem doing that.

Second, grow up. You’re ridiculing people who have used Facebook since it opened up to non-students. And some of these are valid concerns. For some people they’re deal-breakers, and they should be addressed of we want the fediverse to grow.

I’ll say it again and again and again:

The fediverse is hamstrung by the need to choose a specific server.

I remember trying to help people join Mastodon when Musk bought Twitter. Every question I heard was about picking a server.

What’s a server?

Why do I have to pick a server?

How do I pick a server?

Then there were the more thoughtful questions.

What happens if the server I chose goes down?

What happens if someone chooses the same user name as mine on a different server?

Mastodon, Lemmy, etc. won’t get mainstream traction until someone solves this simple hurdle.

I was going to comment this. I think there’s a mode you can use that doesn’t require USB debugging, it just won’t mirror the screen.

All it does is create an app with the same name in the app list. This should cause an error if Android tries to reinstall Safetycore.

I have a charging station I use. I don’t want or need another charger.

Also, please stop selling me micro-SD to Full-SD adapters. I have a box of them I already don’t need.

My favorite phone was a Sony Xperia Compact. If they still have SD Card slots my next phone will be Sony.

I do this with 4 different devices and it just works. I wouldn’t leave the vault file open on any device I’m not actively using though.

Keepass XC (Windows) has a setting “automatically reopen the database when modified externally”. If the file is open and Syncthing updates it from somewhere else, it should open the new file and prompt for the password again.

Most of the phones I’m looking at max out at 256 Gb storage, minus whatever the OS uses. My next phone will almost certainly be a Sony because of the SD card slot. I do a lot of RAW photography, and travel in enough places without data service and/or sketchy cell access that large local storage is not negotiable.

Not a custom ROM user, but I assigned mine to activate the camera.

The “best-case scenario” is adware or malware. Someone didn’t get hugged as a child.
