Yeah I know. This phone, Redmi K70e is also Redmi Note 13 pro+ buuuut now I think it is also Poco X6 like wtf
I don’t know what is that but I suppose it’s related to “spying from china government”. So I will use a custom ROM anyways so it’s not a concern…
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•Need help installing custom ROMEnglish1·2 years agoBut then the boot.img is recovery? I just flash it and then sideload the .zip file? Just understand I don’t want to lose my phone and it’s the first time I do this i’m a bit nervous.
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•Need help installing custom ROMEnglish1·2 years agoHey sorry to bother you again. I was doing the process now, and just to make sure. The Pixel Experience recovery I need to install, are you sure it’s the boot.img? I was seeing some tutorials before and I see that boot.img and recovery.img are different files. What should I do? The ROM you provided doesn’t have a recovery.img
EDIT: I don’t know, I find a lot of inconsistencies between the build on github and the tutorial. It doesn’t tell me anything about the boot.img, my device has a/b partitios so I don’t know what I have to flash. I think i’ll just try with xiaomitool v2
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•Need help installing custom ROMEnglish2·2 years agoOk thank you. Then I just patch the boot img, side load the zip file and I’m done?
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•Need help installing custom ROMEnglish2·2 years agoThaank you. Hey, I noticed in the instruction that it talks about installing the Pixel Experience custom recovery. Where can I find this for my phone? And how does it work? Is it like TWRP / OrangeFox but specifically for PE?
EDIT: I noticed, I guess that it must be the boot.img on the github right?
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•Need help installing custom ROMEnglish2·2 years agoThis is not my phone.
“Camellia/n” are the. POCO M3 PRO and my phone. That is the citrus. I think it even has a different processor, unfortunately pixel experience is not available officially. I could go with unofficial but I’m scared I won’t get security updates and stuff

Although now that I think of it, you have things like apkmirror so I guess it’s not so bad.
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•What do you think about Huawei Harmony OSEnglish31·2 years agoI don’t mean you have to buy Huawei products. I just mean I liked how the OS looks. I haven’t even tried it and probably will never. For me customization is very important, I just love to change my phones layout colors and homscreen every now and then and just mess with how the phone’s esthetic can change. That’s what I meant about the launchers and widgets, it’s just something I love.
I obviously won’t buy a phone just because it’s very customizable. But when picking something like a OS or ROM it’s certainly a point to consider for me at least.
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•What do you think about Huawei Harmony OSEnglish710·2 years agoChinese spyware? Certainly didn’t know that… I that the reason they were banned from US?
Apart from that, I just don’t really want to free myself from Google, Microsoft etc. I still depend a lot on their software and products, and privacy to that extent, while it’s certainly not good, I personally don’t mind it.
I respect that some people are more careful about their privacy, that’s how it SHOULD be for everyone. Unfortunately I still need and want to use their products, so I find it obvious they want something in return. The worst it can do to you is show you personalized ads… Or at least I think so.
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•What do you think about Huawei Harmony OSEnglish3·2 years agoWell, yes, I have never tried any Huawei phones myself. So I don’t have an opinion on how their phones are. But this OS really seemed cool to me when I saw it. Idk how much time has it been active, maybe I’m a bit late?

Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•How to install gcam on any androidEnglish1·2 years agoWell, I’ve actually installed it it is DEFINITELY WAY BETTER than stock. Better color processing, better shadows and overall quality is just amazing. I thi k it’s due to this image processing called HDR and AWB.
Definitely was worth it.
STOCK
GCAM
Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Android@lemmy.world•How to install apps in an SD Card (as internal storage)English3·2 years agoYes. It seems that MIUI has this feature disabled (at least, I can’t find it), though I think there’s a developer option about that. Anyways, I’m thinking of installing a custom rom because MIUI is cool but has a lot of problems. I’ll update if I find the developer option I was talking about.
I will install custom ROM anyways. MIUI is trash. So that’s not an issue, I doubt they exist yet but once this phone comes into western market (if it ever does) I will obviously install pixel experience of maybe even graphene (with google).
EDIT: Also, I know a Pixel 7 Pro would probably be much better. But 250€ for those specs if just awesome. That’s my budgets so the better phone I can get with that price the better, and I don’t know what to get for that price.
