I briefly had an S22 Ultra because there were Pixel shortages at the time, and I hated that piece of shit. Not only was it way too large, extremely heavy, and loaded to the gills with far more unremovable bloatware than the common Google variety, but the camera for which it was touted for being “the best on the market” was absolute dogshit. The white balance was awful, and the shutter speed was slower than a hot turd sliding down the onramp. I returned it after only a week and settled for a budget 4A that actually captured clear photos of my daughter in motion.
Oof… Thanks for the warning!
How does the camera quality and shutter speed compare to the Pixel on these? I love the color and the style, but am unfamiliar with this brand. I briefly tried to Samsung (🤮) S22 Ultra a few years back, as it was hailed for having the absolute best camera at the time. The shutter speed was absolute garbage and I was deeply unhappy with everything It produced. Not to mention the absurd amount of unnecessary bloatware that I couldn’t remove, and this was on top or the Google services. Brought it back for a measley Pixel 4A and was very pleased. Using a Pixel 7 now and with a launcher it has been a dream.
I’m open to other brands like this, though.
Just gonna drop this here, since Ross has blown up suddenly. It’s important this masterpiece never fall into obscurity.

This is too minor of a thing to really gripe about. Getting upset over this is like getting angry that Coke or Pepsi has altered the design of their logo again. It’s just… Not really a big deal.
Yeah, man. I’m with you and I’m incredibly pleased. My old experience I’ve enjoyed on reddit for years is finally back and is functionally identical, at least for the basics I missed so much.
Google needs to make the three Little Pigsels, a series of special starter Pixels for children. The three Pigsels come in Straw, Wood, or Brick, and feature a stock Android UI and a standard Pixel camera to get your child started on the correct path.
What has kept me from trying Linux is my fear of not understanding what I’m doing all over again, and difficulty running all of my games. I’ve used Windows since the mid-90s and I’m very good/familiar with it. Diving headfirst into a new OS and feeling like an idiot again is not something I want, so I’ve been too afraid to make that jump. I also don’t know whether or not the difficulty running games thing is overblown.
