Thats a good idea, i have not made any aliases yet. Also remembering all of those aliases is another challenge ha. I keep a text file named commands on my desktop with a whole bunch of commands I forget.

I think just doing it more, and thinking it’s cool to interact more directly. At least that helps me. I do feel bad for dyslexic peiple though, it’s a lot harder for them to use CLI.

You can do both of those in linux now I believe.
Thank you all so much for your help, here is my output of systemd:
It must be something weird with my initial boot. I am dual booting, but on separate hard drives. My PC does have 6 hard drives in it however. Or, maybe something is messed up in my install?

This is so cool. I don’t know how yall know all this stuff but thanks for sharing ! My startup is 1 min 21 seconds. I know it should be more like 20 seconds
Checks and balances, and money… people won’t buy your product if it’s malware…unless you make them a captive audience (win11, tencent).
Everyone has opinions but mint has been the most stable for me. Plus large user base. It doesn’t come with everything built in like bazzite, but it’s so easy to install wine, steam, proton, etc anyway.
If you’re a gamer like me and you play a wide range of games and vr, dual boot mint on another drive to test it. If you enjoy tinkering and learning, it’s awesome. If you want to jump in and instantly game, you won’t have a good time. I treat it like a classic car. Sometimes you want to tinker and get things running good, but you don’t want to daily drive a 69 Chevelle, unless it’s restomodded. Move slowly away from windows and bolster the linux community !
Mini hijack but what software would yall recommend for vhs backups, preferably linux native? I figure need to do this before they start degrading. I have a capture card already, just was wondering the best software. I tried potplayer but didnt love it…id really need software with an auto shutoff so I can play a tape when I go to work or bed and not have 6 hours of blank recorded…
