Yet, not the article nor proton GitHub readme explain which version proton-hotfix is based of. I suppose based on proton-experimental, but then again it also makes sense to be based on proton-stable.
I read the combo before my original reply as “there is a bunch of people with no interest in Linux or that just hates Linux coming to a Linux community just to say that Linux sucks”. I feel like that if it was a more general technology sub it is fair, but in a Linux community is more weird, like people interested in Linux will discuss its shortcomings in a more positive way not just being dismissive. But I may be interpreting things wrong.
Of course, but sometimes communities have a specific context that is important to be aware of. Just to give an extreme examples: Communities like unpopular opinion, that you should upvote if you do not agree with that opinion. Or circle jerks communities that the point is to be tongue and cheek about the particular subject. Or the nosleep community that, if am not mistaken the name, everyone has to interact with the post in character as if it was real.
I would say “people don’t see the community a post is in before commenting?” But of course they don’t. :'(
Or even better, a dedicated gaming runtime environment. And that env can then be made multiplatform.
Magisk is a godsend. I just wish you could add a password protection to the bootloader and the recovery rom (like the TWRP). That is the one downside to unlock your bootloader. And you can’t like unlock when you need and relock it because to unlock it erases everything. I know that is one more dark pattern from Google to make you keep your phone locked. If they cared about security they would enable a way to put a password to the bootloader
Faster load times and/or less bandwidth. zstd is a newish compression algorithm that has being chosen in a lot of use cases because it can be turned to be faster with the same compression rate or better compression with the same processing time. For the content host it saves bandwidth or CPU time with compression.
Some WM has chained-shortcuts or chorded key bonds, but it is more probably a shortcut of the style “go next workspace” and you can have as many as you want.

OP, don’t go with the hype, don’t go arch Linux as your first distro, you can change to it later when you get more comfortable and feels like having a more hands on approach.
PS: I don’t think that matters but just in case, I am an arch user for at least 12 years already as my only OS (except work computer) and I find it wild that so many people recommends arch Linux (or any of its derivatives) for beginners. I can only guess how many people get burnt and give up on Linux because of it.
