I set 777 to my whole file system on a install of Ubuntu back in the day and it does indeed fuck the install in lovely ways. I didn’t bother attempting recovery. Nice learning experience.
Lost the LE because of the error but oh well. I will wait for after market transparent shells and order one.

Stick around or did you go back to windows before eventually circling back to Linux?2·2 years agoI installed Ubuntu, ran it for a few hours on a pentium 4 box. Thought it was neat but not neat enough to switch over after I realized I couldn’t play the games I wanted.
I eventually got fed up with windows updates and instability with random shit and developers shitting in the registry and weird permissions issues and all that and switched. Now a days I run pop os on my laptops and desktop with a side rig just for finicky games and windows only shit id rather not configure for my main systems. I have a steam deck too. I’m 👌 close to giving up windows all together but I still like having trash box I can format at anytime.
You can accidentally hit it and use your your battery! :D
