I do remember you have to go somewhere in the settings around keyboards and startup movies to be able to claim them. I am not sure you could just claim them in the actual points shop.

Yeah. Same for me. I do have issues from time to time that my monitor isn’t recognized, then I have to disconnect and even switch off power to the display completely before trying again.
But that happens maybe once every few weeks.
Maybe there are more keyboards that I don’t know about but I got the 512 GB OLED version and was able to get all kinds of useless profile things and also keyboard skins, marked as Steamdeck exclusive.
I can also recommend KDE connect, does not work well on most public WiFi though.
if you’re inclined to buy it, ensure you purchase this without expecting long-term support from the company.
Can I ask about the change of not keeping record of deleted files after 6 months by default. Does that mean if I sync two directories constantly so that if syncthing sees one of them has a file deleted, it will delete the file on the other too, if I copy back that same file into the synced folder, after 6 months pass Syncthing would sync that file again? Or what else does this mean?
Currently I am just using this to have an easy transfer between two computers, I keep moving out files that have been transferred from both folders, so I would think this has no effect on how I use it?
I just had it all nicely setup and was planning to expand it, being happy and content that I don’t need to mess with it anymore. And now they decide to make a 2.0, darn it!
Mostly joking, glad to see its being developed, just hope I don’t forget to wait updating it on my server until the android app catches up.
Just saw this post and thought of your topic here: https://lemmy.world/post/34149294
What do you mean, just download your extra RAM like everyone else.
I’ll just start off with some second hand knowledge I cannot promise is correct because I recently learned that secure boot is a bit of a hot mess.
I seem to remember from discussions of recent articles that were about expiration of some widely used keys to run secure boot, that this is something you need to enable when you install your operating system. Unless I misunderstood what people were saying it sounds to me like there is no way to switch it on retroactively, because that pretty much stops your operating system from booting. Similar if you had it on during installation and then switch it off, your system won’t run.
I guess this is to avoid that someone with physical access to your computer can just switch it off, install root kit malware, then switch it back on (or not).
Again. I might be wrong but maybe if you look into that direction you find some more information that helps.
It still does all of that though? The only thing that stopped working was that you use the standard app shortcut to start it in private mode. And for that you can make a separate shortcut.
It still works if you follow a link from another app that it opens that in private mode. It still works that the browser closes tabs automatically after a set time and that it clears history fully upon quiting.
I am not sure what you are now missing.
The open links in private tab works fine still. However what OP means, and I can confirm that, you were able to setup Fennec to always start in private mode when you open it, without making a specific shortcut for it.
I just checked in Ironfox and there it still works like that. I could however not find a specific setting that does this.
So this makes me think, OP, what you and I were using was maybe never intended to work as expected but potentially a bug that got fixed. You can still open links automatically in private mode and you can add the extra shortcut for when you manually start the browser.
I was kind of expecting that question, there is actually an official listing of the most popular German names for babies every year. Goes back a few decades: https://gfds.de/vornamen/beliebteste-vornamen/#topten
Daniel is among the top ten in almost every year up to 2000. After that it is other names taking over but I didn’t check where Daniel lands, might have been top 20 or top 50 still.
Seeing as the guy in the ad is not likely under 20, Daniel isn’t a weird choice of a name. Certainly better than Klaus or Reinhardt.
You think that Daniel is “not the most German name” but suggest Klaus or Reinhardt is more representative? What else, should he wear Lederhosen?
It’s fine to ask for money. Here I think it is just not clear why this would warrant a subscription model.
Yeah, not sure how that is confusing.
Is there any server component to it, other than serving updates? That would justify a subscription model, but I also cannot see any need for it for something like this.
So, is there any consensus if secure boot is even needed at all? I’ve read so many different opinions about this the past few days and have no idea.
It actually does support installation on a single drive but it requires tinkering so I wouldn’t recommend if you are just starting with Linux. Source: me, did it last year to test out, but don’t recall where I found the tutorial for it.
