I really don’t understand why people bother with Adobe products. I’ve been using Gimp for like 20 years and it’s never been lacking. I’ve never once thought about re-pirating Photoshop.
Garageband on the other hand… I would kill for a linux equivalent.
I use Windows for work and Linux (Debian/Plasma) at home.
I literally have none of these problems.

The installer, last time I tried it, was glitchy and unintuitive.
I used it a few months ago and it was pretty smooth.

I setup an Ubuntu/Gnome laptop for an older person. When they asked me to make everything bigger, it took me like 20 minutes for a half-assed solution.
That’s part of the reason I switched to Debian/Plasma, although I haven’t replicated this experiment yet…
TBH I feel like many IT people are employed because they’re “microsoft certified”, not because they know anything about linux. This kind of gatekeeping is a big part of why windows is so entrenched.

AFAIK communism advocates for a stateless, classless, moneyless society, while fascism advocates for imperial nationalism and the violent class hierarchies of capitalism, racism, misogyny, xenophobia, etc.
They seem much more like opposites under the standard definitions. I don’t understand doublespeak.
One of the best things about ditching Ubuntu for Debian was losing worthless snaps and gaining UI support for flatpaks.

After like 15 years of ubuntu, I got so sick of their bulllshit that I switched to Debian a few months ago. It’s endlessly better.
I still have ubuntu on a raspberry pi(hole). Whenever I login to update, I get this message about “premium updates” or whatever they call it. It makes me want to barf but I haven’t motivated to switch the pi yet.
Ofc it’s not a panacea. It’s an OSacea.
