Meta announced on Monday that it's going to train its AI models on public content, such as posts and comments on Facebook and Instagram, in the EU after
It should be another wake up call for everyone using those social media plattforms by Meta.
Imagine your a small artist on Instagram and they use your art to train their model. Everyone could possible create pictures with your style using the AI.
Furthermore do they possible have to save everything you post (pictures, videos and texts) and they also make money with sharing your data to third person companies.

I feel the fediverse Instagram alternatives are furthest from mainstream adoption, so I hope those artists will drive a new group of refugees ‘our’ way.
In my opinion could artists or creators post on fediverse platforms and mainstream platforms at the same time. It makes sense that if a big creator switches to Pixelfed and leaves Instagram that he/she would have way less followers but if he/she would post on both, people could decide for themself.
